It's a mid-sized but growing airport: it handled around 1.79 million passengers in 2024, according to Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (ASUR), and from January to October 2025 the state's air traffic grew 4.56%, according to the Oaxaca government. From there, the same exit connects to the road to the Central Valleys heading east and to the highway to the coast. Leaving with your own vehicle gets you ready to move from day one.

Save your accommodation's exact address before leaving the airport. Oaxaca's historic center has many one-way streets and some pedestrian ones; knowing your spot and where to park saves you loops on arrival.
