Leaving with your own vehicle saves you the taxi line and gives you mobility from minute one, whether you're heading to the Historic Center or to a hotel in the business area.

The heart of Querétaro's Historic Center is pedestrian and has narrow streets. Locate a parking lot near your hotel or the walkways in advance: you leave the car and explore the plazas, churches, and lanes on foot, which is the best way to enjoy the city.
What can you do from Querétaro with a car?
Querétaro is an unbeatable base because it has everything around it. To the northeast, the Peña de Bernal —one of the largest monoliths in the world, about 288 meters tall— and its Magic Town are about 60 kilometers away, close to an hour. Very near there the Wine and Cheese Route begins, with vineyards and cheese dairies spread between Ezequiel Montes (about 50 km) and Tequisquiapan, a Magic Town (close to an hour). Further north the Sierra Gorda opens up, with its Franciscan missions and its biosphere reserve. And to the south, San Juan del Río and the road to Mexico City. All of that opens up when you drive.
