Quick answer
For a monthly scooter rental in Puerto Escondido, the cap at KORU is 30 days per rental: if you stay longer, you simply make a second one. Prices are per day and, from 4 days on, there may be a discount depending on the provider. You pay the full amount when you book on korurent.com, by card or Apple Pay, and the only document you need is your valid driver's license. If a scooter or any other vehicle is available on your dates, you'll see it on the Puerto Escondido page.
Can you do a monthly scooter rental in Puerto Escondido?
Thirty days: that's the cap on any single KORU rental, even if you're planning to stay three months. Rentals go by the day, and each day counts as 24 hours from the moment you get the vehicle, so a 30-day rental ends at the same time of day it started. Staying six weeks? That's two rentals, one of 30 days and one of 12. There's no flat monthly price or weekly rate, and the rule is the same whether it's a scooter, a moped or a car.
Is there a discount for renting by the week or month?
It depends on the provider, which is why you won't find a percentage here. KORU is a platform where verified local providers rent out their vehicles, and every vehicle has its daily price on its own listing. From 4 days on there may be a long-rental discount, but it varies from one provider to the next and the team confirms it, so ask before you pay. There are no coupons or promo codes to hunt for. Our advice for a month: compare totals, not daily prices.
How do you pay for a 30-day rental?
Half now and half on delivery: people ask us for that on WhatsApp all the time, and it's not possible. You pay in full, in one go, when you book. On korurent.com you enter your first and last name and your email, and confirm the email with a 6-digit code before paying; no phone number needed. You pay by card or Apple Pay, in pesos, on Stripe's payment page. For a month, that means paying all 30 days up front: no weekly payments, no monthly installment plans, and no cash or transfers. The deposit, if the vehicle has one, is separate: it's a hold on your card, not a charge, and you authorize it on handover day.
Who should rent by the week or the month?
Anyone spending several weeks in one place and heading out every day: the digital nomad who sleeps in Rinconada and works from a café in La Punta, or the surfer who comes for the swell season and picks a beach depending on the sea. If two of you will drive, register the other person as an additional driver: there's a fee, and the team confirms it. Our rule: if you'll ride almost every day, rent the full weeks; if you're spending the month in one neighborhood and walking everywhere, rent only for your day trips.
What happens if you stay longer than 30 days?
The common mistake is leaving the second rental until the last day. It's a brand-new rental, with its own payment and its own contract. Search the following dates on the Puerto Escondido page: if the same vehicle is still available, it shows up; if someone already took it, it doesn't. If you just want to add days without going past 30: before handover, you request it in My rentals with Change booking; once the rental has started, a person on the team reviews the extension. And if something goes wrong mid-month, My rentals has the Emergency / Assistance button.
Heads up
You pay for the whole month up front and, once the rental starts, unused days aren't refunded unless agreed in writing. Cancelling beforehand also carries a fee, depending on how far ahead you cancel. If your departure date isn't settled, rent the days you're sure of and, as soon as you know you're staying, make the second rental.
“Stay a month in Puerto and you stop going to Zicatela for the photo and start going to the Benito Juárez market for groceries. That's the life a vehicle by the week is for, with a signed contract and someone to call if it breaks down.”

As a rule, no: once the rental starts, days you don't use aren't refunded unless agreed in writing, and cancelling before it starts also carries a fee, depending on how far ahead you do it. If KORU or the provider cancels, there's no fee.
It depends on the vehicle and the provider: each one has its own handover point, and the cost changes with where you're staying; the team confirms it beforehand. Timing isn't fixed either: you pick the time when you book, in 15-minute slots, within the provider's hours.
If you already have dates, go to korurent.com, search for Puerto Escondido and enter your days, up to 30 per rental: only available vehicles show up, each with its daily price and requirements.
